Look. 80 is a leader. He adds value to the dialogue and raises everyone's game. He certainly doesn't need (or probably want) my endorsement, but I'm in his corner. Has he been flying for 35 years? Apparently not. While some would see that as a negative, I don't. We need fresh perspectives, not a stale "because that's the way we've always done it" approach.
slowplay is just a hatchet man. He has no creativity, and merely propagates others' ideas in return for a cushy gig with minimal work and maximum graft. He wins when he's dragged others down to his level in the gutter. Regrettably, I allowed myself to be suckered in, and for that, I apologize.
Certainly another post of the year! The way you read through his post and determined that he want to continue "doing it the way we have always done it" was brilliant.
Of course I see the whole debate a little different. Even since I have I been here (much fewer years and cookies than slow) SC has got nothing but better. From being assigned 24 hours domestic at 3am after an off day, 2 Long windows (short call) windows a day etc to what we have now essentially 12 hour max with 2 hour commutable windows....
Yeah.. Do we all want less? (SC). Of course. But to say that anybody is propagating doing things the way they have always been done is ridiculous. Things have improved and if you think you can wave a purple wand or a DPA lanyard at these problems and instantly solve them, you are saddenly mistaken.
