Well, I can think of a couple things that would be worse than a couple experienced pilots not wearing their seat belts.

A few years ago in my area, there was a guy who bought an old Ercoupe , took a buddy for a joy ride, flew over the golf course and then did a 360 over his buddies house.

I don't know how hard he pulled in the turn, but he main spar broke (corrosion AD not complied with) and the wing snapped off. There were several witnesses on the golf course.
