We watch Disney, NickJr, PBS, Nova, Modern Family, How It's Made and that's it. So Roku might be around the corner for us.
My wife and I ditched cable/satellite about a year ago. We have an HD antenna for the local channels, and Netfix and Hulu+ for everything else. It's been great for everything except sports. Every so often there's a game on TNT or ESPN that I'll miss because of the arrangement.
You just have to figure out if the programming you want is available via streaming. If so, I'd say cut the cord. It saves us about $60/month.
