Since everything that the Douglas runs over ends up getting sucked into the inlets ... a borescope inspection on a JT8D has to be like a doing a colonoscopy on Slowplay.
Since the nosewheel steering doesn't really work that well, the handling of the airplane would not be any more compromised than it already is. Can't you hear ops on the radio "can you taxi to the gate?"
