$8.20 a gallon in Orlando for 100LL. The problem is not the price of fuel, it is local government and monopolistic FBO's who have figured out how to turn the Federally funded pavement into a cash cow for friends and family of the local politicians. Here is a sample bill IN ADDITION TO the fuel:

It used to be that Pop's FBO realized the promotion of aviation through reasonably priced rentals and training meant aircraft sales, repair work and tie down fees. Today what I see are predators killing off the few unfortunate animals that wander up to the water hole for a drink. That water hole is drying up and the remaining animals are endangered. As this has occurred the predators have become more vicious. Every time my bonanza gets chased down the ramp by a line guy in a golf cart I feel as though my wallet is being hunted.

In my consulting business (often working for airports) I make it clear that I will not pay these fees. If they try to charge me, I will either refuse to work for them, or add it to my bill and send it right back to them.
