Oh oh... Auburn football fans, looks like the 2011 team could be in serious trouble with the NCAA. Perhaps they sugercoat it like the cam investigation but this seems to have a few more moving parts.
Remember the other day talking about the media? Think about this first, with the NCAA on campus conducting a multimillion dollar anal exam of the program from November on (i.e. during the run up to their BCS National Championship win) you're supposed to believe Auburn was changing grades for players?

Second, the ESPN story leaves out something the CNNSI story did not. The source and the background of the author.

CNNSI:One player, Mike McNeil told his story to Roberts. He is charged with armed robbery and was dismissed from the team. His trial begins on April 8 and faces 21 years to life in prison if convicted.

The other source for the article was Mike Blanc who has come out to say: "Man this article is outrageous and isn't true. The media will do anything for a juicy story, sad"

Followed by the other source was Neiko Thorpe who said: “She just took what I said, I guess, and tried to … make it to a story she wanted,” Thorpe said, “because it wasn’t even the story she told me what she was reporting about. It was kind of crazy when I had a chance to read it and see what she put wasn’t true.”

The big question is, who is the reporter? She is a former NYT reporter turned SI reporter turned nobody. Remember the Duke Lacrosse case?

All that to say,

In the grand scheme of things, what's five yards? oh, oh right...
