It's not the dispenser, it's the cabin cleaners who shove 2,000 paper towels into a 500 towel holder.
I just transitioned to the 777. The forward lav just aft of the cockpit, on the -300 at least, is like a small studio apartment. There's a huge sink, a rack for soaps and lotions, and enough space to have a three-way in there if you wanted to.
