It sounds as if there is a lot of resistance to this change from CAL guys. Just for clarification, most CAL guys would prefer to have the "new" airline reflect this particular CAL way of doing things, as opposed to reinstalling your flight planning areas and move towards the UAL flight planning traditions. I think the LCAL heavy crews would love to have a place to sit down and lay their papers out to work on. As a narrow body pilot I just don't see a need for it, when I was in the right seat or the left.
They won't be reinstalling roomier FPAs in LCAL areas, that's for sure. Money doesn't flow that way with this management.
