I have no idea what you are currently flying, but I wouldn't give up hope yet. As long as you have Turbo/Jet time you should be competitive. Have you looked into NJA?

I retire from the AF this summer too. From my own experience, it is hard to get much attention if your availability is more than 3-4 months away. As you get closer, more companies will start calling. Best to keep updating resume's and apps in the meantime.

As far as recency goes, I've heard 6 months is the max you would want to go w/o flying. It is a big deal for lots of folks. Don't know exactly what the rationale is (insurance?). Good luck and keep the faith.
