Pilots fly airplanes safely from point A to point B, period. What those points may be or what aircraft fly them is totally out of our hands. For years pilots have mistakenly trusted management to take care of them, sharing the good times, blah, blah blah. I can understand your point of view. When you can't trust management then you won't want profit sharing. But like the other guys said, it's been paying out quite nicely for U$.
I have had profit sharing at two other companies. When management has their pay tied to profitability then you will see profit sharing more often than not. It's nice o have a bonus on top of your pay. The secret is to have a decent pay rate then treat the profit sharing as gravy on top of the meat and potatoes.
