On DAL and UAL...
Do I have to prearrange it before leaving the US or can I arrange it at the airport?
Once again, if this is too specific a question, feel free to shut it down.
P.S - #*$! you very much American for having a recip. jumpseat agreement with us in which we take your guys to Columbia and Peru all the time but we can't ride international on your planes. I know.... Its not the pilots fault, but it #*?!ing irks me.
I don't think it's only AA. I went on Delta to Europe many times and I was not allowed on the jumpseat. I was left at the gate in Bucharest. Captain was awesome but he said he can't let me on because of company policy. I do the paperwork for jumpseat, but I must have a seat in the back. FedEx will not take any jumpseaters internationally at all. At least it was like that a couple of years ago when I tried.
Couple of suggestions for LHR: if you fly through make sure to keep the stub and tell the ticket agent. It saves you about $150. I always buy zed fares on foreign carriers. They are fully refundable.
