Waiting for profit sharing is like those who think they are receiving a windfall when they get a big refund from the IRS. Yep letting the feds have your money for up to 15 months or more, interest free, is really smart, Not! When you are hourly labor, yes that is what pilots are, it puts way to much faith in the bean counters especially when there is a history of misdeeds, greed and undeserved bonuses by management. Secondly why would you want to share in profit that your job has nothing to do with determining whether or not profit is made by your company? Pilots do not compete, they all do the same job, in the same aircraft in the same airspace following the same regulations, so how do you generate a profit while doing your job at DAL versus the pilot doing his job at AA? The answer is you don't, but it provides management another area in which they can promote the foolish tribal mentality that has divided pilots for decades.
