I left them in 2002 or so after 18 years of service. They simply were not competitive with Allstate with their (the latter) house and car package deal.

I tried to stay with USAA, but they couldn't even come close.

No regrets, I've saved thousands of $$ over the years, and several claims were dealt with promptly.

USAA has been diluted. What used to be very specialized is now just another insurance/financial company.
