Any given pilot on the 9E list has a greater probability of being a Delta pilot when compared with pilots such as yourself who don't have access to the SSP. So don't play this off like it is the end of the world and no 9E pilots will ever make it to Delta, yes, the SSP is not bullet proof and yes a large number of 9E pilots will never make it to Delta but a large number of 9E pilots were never going to make it to Delta in the first place. You can try to paint the picture anyway you like, but even with all the flaws, the number of 9E pilots who will go to Delta is higher now with the SSP than it would have been without.
This is aviation, so all I can say is "maybe" in terms of how this SSP works out. Time will tell if this plays out as planned. I know all too well from Eagle friends that had a flow and how that turned out for them. I still honestly believe anyone who is below seniority #1000 is much better off leaving to bigger/better place and then applying to Delta off the street. There is no quota for other airline pilot applicants, and the slots available for OAL applicants is much higher and unlimited per year.
