I grew up around aviation. My father is a corporate pilot. Got to go on many flights on GII's in the early to mid 90's. Never really thought about it as a profession. Wanted to go into the Marines after high school. Couldn't go due to a recurring stress fracture.
When I was 18 I got to fly in the jumpseat on one of my dad's GIV's he was flying. At that moment I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Four months later I moved from Texas to Oklahoma for flight school. Four years later I have lived in Tennessee, Georgia, and now Hawaii. I have loved every moment of it and never looked back.
