Off days are off days. You have no responsibility to even remember who you work for. Even if you volunteer and are tagged, you can say no. The only potential issues would be the chance of getting extended (up to three days) from your previous trip, having to commute in on your last day off for your next trip or the requirement to call in 30-35 hours prior to beginning a reserve window.
I have ran into trouble with going out on my last day off to position for a trip. I wasnt aware they could do that but It happened to me more than once. I tried for X day pay and they said no. The union said its legal but I dont see how.
