That is true, and really, I'm not trying to crap on JetBlue's (or anyone's) premium pay. I just want to point out that premium pay is a tool for the company to get more productivity out of the pilot group.
My company is no exception, and all the time I hear guys bragging about the fact that they're pulling down just as much money as the legacy pilots. What they don't say is that they flew 90 hours to do it. I point this out because while a pilot benefits from premium pay, the company benefits
more by not having to staff as heavily. From a negotiating standpoint, I feel we should be moving away from this - not towards it.
