Personally, I'm for more of a hybrid system like what UA/CO has. 88/90/319/320/737/738+717!!!! should all be on the same pay band... 321/739/757 is another logical band, the 767/753 could perhaps be another logical band, and then drop all the big dogs in the top tier one.
Someone is going to get very angry at what I just wrote. So, bring it on.

BB FO Speaking against the proposed resolution ... Pay banding makes it less likely pilots will change position, making it easier to staff the airline with fewer pilots.
Proposed Amendment ... require separate pay and pilot category lists for aircraft with different engines, eec's, paint jobs, winglets, antenna positions, brake linings, winglets, mode control panels, seats and / or cushions, so that everyone gets to be senior on something. Oh and we need a separate list for charters and maintenance test flights.
(after 8 minute pause while a pilot tries to get projector and MacBook working, and "teype d sew amendad" while the Local Council members shout spelling corrections and heckle the poor Sec Tres from the peanut gallery ..... the entire Air Force Academy Class of 1968 shouts in unison "Winglets is in there, winglets, winglets, right there, twice! Hardee Har Bar's redundant, no he said it twice..." )
Second? Do we have a Second for the Proposed Amendment?
Carl awakens as a result of the caucophony of pilots shouting spelling and punctuation ... "What? Yes?"
Seconded Carl Spackler, so passed Pay Banding resolution to separate pay and category lists in the most minute detail possible.
