I left there a few years ago, but I'll give my experiences:
1. Very challenging, especially in summertime. You can try to fly directly to the city your pattern starts out of (AMS for example), but if you're operating out of someplace like Gottenborg (sp?) you'll have to work out something else. Main point: You end up losing a lot of your free time doing a trans-atlantic commute.
2. I'd say I averaged about 10 days off...subtract a couple of days for the commute from that.
3. No idea
4. My longest trip was 30+ days, after which I quit. Shortest was around 5 as I recall.
5. Probably some of the best/most varied flying you'll do in your career. Hotels as a rule are all pretty top notch. The
only thing I didn't like about Atlas was the schedule; not compatable with my lifestyle.
6. Not sure.
