The Melbourne area beaches are great! Lots of beaches to choose from. If you take 528 east to Cocoa Beach and head south on A1A you will see many beaches, some in Sattelite Beach, and Indian Harbor beach have covered picnic areas, playgrounds, volleyball and grills.
There is a large public beach on A1A and 192 in Indialantic. There are restaurants there, pizza shops, and surf shops.
Have fun, and keep in mind that there are lifeguards, but only in the public beach areas.

Thanks man, I'm passing it along to the boss. We're thinking that's probably where we'll go because it's close. Although we were at the beach all week and all the kids wanted to do was go to the pool.
BTW, Hurlburt field in Ft Walton, talk about C-130paloosa. Not to mention a OV-22paloosa. And I saw ov-10s and a black metroliner. And F-35s. And F-22s. And either F-22s or F-35s with a KC-135. And a gray PC-12 a lot.
