Sounds like paranoia to me. CASS, or company employee verification, is a pretty good reason why guys don't check. You can forge a pilot certificate and a medical, but you'd have a tough time hacking the CASS database and having your face pop up on a gate agents screen. I'd rather fly with a paranoid gate agent.
There was an example recently that flat out proves that getting a CASS ticket printed out is not enough to stop the threat. Not going to post it here, but look around internally if you need proof.
Its bush league for a JS rider not to at least have those two simple things at least readily presentable. Takes 10 seconds, max. The stakes are far too high and the rewards of acting cool and casual about it just way too low IMHO.
It takes 10 seconds and we're required to do it anyway. Where exactly is the incentive to blow it off?
