The ad says "chances are" your pilot takes home less than $1000 per month. The average person on the street would probably take that to mean it's somewhere around a 50/50 chance. It's pretty fuzzy wording, aimed to mislead. Like I said, it's verging on libel, and you can't sue for that. I'm sure the lawyers looked it over first.
Something similar happened at Mesa once, where someone said to the media that there were Mesa pilots on food stamps. The CEO wanted a lawsuit, or to have someone fired, but as it turned out, THAT statement was 100% concise, and 100% accurate.

You deserve a heck of a lot better than IBT. Hopefully you are far enough past the scare tactics of two years ago to have the common sense to fire the IBT as your representation. That's the part in this whole mess that I find most frustrating, but I guess it's understandable given the lack of experience that the majority of your pilots probably have with airline union representation. I was in your shoes at one point too (3 unions ago).
