I remember back in the day, Comair was in the end game of negotiations, and management parked an E170 on the CVG ramp for a dog and pony show. The pilots were told management was "very interested" in the airplane, and "could get it" except that they were currently not cost competitive for the award. The union worked with management to expedite the contract (took concessions), and as soon as the contract was signed, management turned around and told them they hadn't "won the award". The same will happen here.
You NEVER ever bid on phantom airplanes!
