Glad someone gets it. "777 Forever" doesn't care because he thinks he'll be at Delta in a year or two. All he cares about is settling, getting new airplanes, and upgrading, so he can use his "associations" to get hired. And what he doesn't realize is that ASA book +3% is vastly concessionary for the L-XJT side.

Why do you think we should get or deserve a pay increase? People in this industry are always complaining about something. 6 leg days! Screw that! (Oh these new rest rules suck I'm only going to be doing 2 leg days with 19 hours on the ground in Moline gross.) Our performance numbers are terrible! (Lets do a 30 minute taxi and fly 250 the whole way to get overblock). At the end of the day we all talk a big game but when it comes to losing our job or working we will always back down. The reason being....seniority is everything. If you want to take a pay loss and quit go ahead. You can start at 24 dollars an hour working reserve somewhere else.
The only trick we have up our sleeve is that we are unable to fill new hire classes. With the demand of pilots increasing at the regional level as attrition rates increase the current pilot group could use that as leverage to get more pay.
And you're the opposite extreme of Trip 7. Do you really plan to retire from this place? If so, I hope you plan to retire in the next 5 years, because after then there won't be much left. And this contract has exactly zero bearing on that. SKW Inc. has sent a clear message with this E Jet deal that they have no use for us. I have been predicting this for quite some time. They will shrink this side (due to attrition and CPA expirations), and grow the non union side. Eventually, (10 years?) when we are small enough, anyone left will be given the "opportunity" for preferential hiring on the SkyWest side. By then they will be flying their E-Jets, Mitsus, and maybe even some Airbusses to small and medium sized cities Mainline has abandoned under their own logo.
Count on it.
Have you joined the L-XJT APC crowd and are demanding big raises now? Btw, I have the exact amount of experience working for Skywest Inc that you have Capt Tony. What scars you have from previous management is irrelevant.
I'm not going to jump into online banter about what pay increase we deserve for the next 10 pages. Besides PBS bidding systems and rest of the JCBA has been negotiated pretty quickly. I think the TA will be done soon and it will allow for growth while protecting what we have.
