That's kinda what I did. I broke my cardinal rule for the 73N. Don't start pulling the power until you're in the flare. I was a little higher then that. Oopps. I'm sure the -900 will be even less forgiving. The tail clearance on that beyatch is minimal. When landing the -800, and I'm sure the -900, you gotta have power on.
Been there, done that. I would always pull it to idle as I was starting the flare if it was a positive energy trend. Negative.. hang on!
The 900 I bet will be like the 88 and 763 domestic where you almost add power in the flare, then ease it out for where you want to touch down.
