Hogan is the online personality assessment that HR wanted so that they could use it to prescreen candidates. If your answers don't score a certain number, you won't get the invite for the interview. Personally I wish it was just not used as a prescreen tool. Fail it, along with any other portion of the interview process and you have to wait 12 months to reapply.
Sounds like a computerized version of the shrink interview you had to get through back in the day for the Delta interview. Really creepy dude. They (Delta) eventually dumped him when they realized it was a completely subjective process that accomplished very little. Really disturbing that UAL is wasting money and the applicants time on "personality assessments".
