Explanation just for you - When you were taught and MENTORED by a "scab" it is very possible you will have tendencies to have the "scab mentality". When people use the term "scab mentality" they are telling you to keep it in check or one day given the chance you'll become a full-blown SCAB. You don't need to be offended - they are trying to help you.
Yes, I have understood what you have been saying prior to the explanation!! I'll try to explain my point with a little more detail. You're right Staller I did fly with many Scabs through my career. I consider myself a person that has high self esteem and Really don't care what people think of me!! ( I do care what people I RESPECT think of me though!!) So, this scab mentality that you talk about I really don't get!! You either have IT, or you DON'T!! It's sort of like trying to teach ethics in College, and then see the students go out and run companies such as Enron and World Comm!! You either have ethics or you don't. If I flew with a scab and he tried to tell me his beliefs, it would be like listening to Bernie Madoff explain how to run a better business!! I'd just sit there and say " do you really believe what you are saying!" Whereas, listening to a Full Termer was very interesting and educational. I learned listening to those Full Termers it was like going to War and many lost everything(Plus I RESPECTED their opinion)!! Our pilots were out for Years not just months, which I think makes a big difference in how many crossers you have! I admire what BOTH pilot groups did!! I was told by these Full Termers they were proud of what they did but, it was the most miserable time in their life!! So, in closing I don't think what your's (or mine) opinion of "scab mentality" is anywhere close to REAL scab actions, which is crossing a line! I think the term "scab mentality" is used to get under the persons skin you're talking to in order to get them to feel pressured to capitulate to your opinion! Staller, even though I don't agree with 87% of your posts, I don't think your "Mentality" is Scab like it's just wrong!(in MY opinion) I do hope someday though we can get past this!! All the "anger" doesn't make the job very fun!!
