I'm all for JB taking FOs w/ATPs but if they took more experienced pilots first (eg. TPIC, check airmen) they might become a more desirable career airline. Being less senior to someone because they spent $3,000 for their ATP vs someone who went through the ranks via upgrade or FO ATP is not something that appeals to me. It just seems like reverse career progression when you have younger guys senior to you because they had deeper pockets or didn't mind racking up the MasterCard.
