Thats a different issue altogether, and for the record...I agree. Its TMU (in agreement, and with the consent of the airlines) that push for the more efficient runway configurations, even if it means a nasty tailwind, or crosswind component. The line controllers like myself are not involved in that decision making, and we rather work the safer, even if less efficient configuration if given a choice.

The problem I identified happens whether you're landing into the wind, or not.
