I flew with a scab once that liked to change the ZFW in the 737 to go higher. What an idiot. He did lots of dangerous things. I reported him to the chief and said I would never fly with him again. He is still flying. He is always in open time. The poor reserves get stuck with him. He is always on the list for senior manning too. No life. Hopefully he can retire without killing anyone.
The Captain that you mention above.....Was that the same shining star who opted to change the ZFW over the NATs one evening to "trick-d1ck" the box in "manufacturing" his own "artificially induced" recommended climb??
Never mind the fact that he ended up stalling a B757, lost 3-4K ft, and drifted so far off course that he managed to infringe on the neighboring Track.
