ALPA is currently pushing to allow FO's to keep doing what they do (walk arounds in the rain, taking the fat one, etc) with a 2nd class medical, but ALPA is not pushing to allow Captain's to fly with 2nd class medicals. Is that discriminatory?
No. If Captains want to fly with a 2nd class medical, they could choose to downgrade, at least until August, then the FAA takes over. Comparing CA to FO isn't really accurate. Just look at the W-2.
