Per the agreement. Delta gets access to the pilots entire records at "Endeavor Air" not just PRIA. If you have one missed trip they can use that as an excuse to not hire. It's one day less of interviewing but meters the pilots ability to interview by seniority order. Not that great, I'd rather prove myself the old fashioned way. United has already hired a ton of guys. No one is banking on Delta's special blessing.
Yes, United has been and is hiring lots, and AA/US should be kicking things off in the fall, while DAL sits and watches the cream of the crop disappear. They will then come running to the pilots for relief because there was no way they could have seen this pilot shortage coming, and "Flight Ops wanted to hire the whole time but those meanies in accounting wouldn't let us. So please, just for the summer of 14, could we get a special letter to provide each reserve with 10 shortcalls a month and 75 more 76-seaters for an even 400? Then we'll be able to make it up to you on the next contract. Or possibly the one after that."
