I hope your hiring board feels that way too. Let's face it, most anyone qualified for the interview is going to know how to fly passengers from point A to point B. I've always had the impression that Delta is looking for people that have a level of well-roundedness that goes beyond the mechanics of flying an airplane. Thus the personality component, the preference for advanced degrees and people active in their communities, and so on.
