Once the Max and NEO's are out, you will see current generation planes retiring in droves even 737-700,800 & 900's, fuel costs are the exception to the above. Current generation 737's are not that much better fuel wise than our old 737-300's. The Max will change all that.
Dave, not only does the 400 look crappy but they spent so little on mx that it had a base closed, ord. It was cx all the time to nrt and hkg, cx or delay. So it hurt much more than just the look.
