Boy, you all would have a conniption fit if you flew to the upper Midwest. There is a Minneapolis Center guy that works the freq (it’s around Milwaukee - Lacrosse area) that is probably the friendliest controller I have EVER come across. He will ask you how your day is, tell you to have a good day, talk about his day, etc...

My point is that SOME in the industry try to keep it friendly, especially in the less congested areas of our ATC system. I hope you are all not like this in the cockpit - direct, straight to the point, and no personality. If so, I'd hate to be cooped up with one of you for a four hour flight.

Now having said that, cutting down on pleasantries is essential when you fly into the more congested areas like ORD, ATL and such. In any case, you folks need to relax. After all, the airline industry has enough of its A-holes and unpleasantness about it.
