For every 400 that gets parked in the next 3 years a 900ER or a MAX will show up to replace it. Small airplanes is not what our management wants to make money with. They want high productivity and low CASM in the 800's, 900's and MAX.
I can see the day that most of the home state flying is done by Horizon freeing the Alaska pilots, in the 800's, 900's and MAX's, to fly the money making main line. Or the Mayan's could have been right, just a year off...
That must be some good company weed they are handing out for free. They could fly A320's at a AAG subsidiary and you are not protected. Paint Eskimo's on the tail, lower ticket prices, and your loyal customer base won't GAS. They could even call it Alaska Airlines with a little "inc." in small font and be good.
