A GS flown while not yet at the GS trigger for the month will still be coded as GS pay. If you then WS trips to get to the GS trigger that trip will be paid at 2X pay even though at the time you were below the GS trigger. You can even borrow hours from the bank to help get you to the GS trigger so the GS you flew will be paid 2X pay. You don't have to be above the trigger when you fly it, you just have to get to the trigger by the end of the month. I've seen alot of senior guys WS trips just for this reason after they have one GS, but are below the trigger.
