Ok, so just stay 10-15, that puts you at 45-50 range, can you retire at that age or will you find yourself pulling gear on a narrow body, commuting to LGA on reserve? IMHO, ten years is a no brainer, but after that...think hard.
Right now your living large, looking at a big command and enjoying a new lifestyle. Think of your kids in their teenage years......in Dubai.
Again, just my opinion after few more years than you. First five years were awesome. Now with the rostering constraints, inflation in DXB, sick warnings, infrastructure issues, it's getting tougher.
You hit the nail on the head!
Wide body Capt & mo' money. If those are your sole goals in life (notice I said life, not 5-10 years), welcome to the expat community!
Yes, furloughs are a reality in a seniority based system, so is the job security that comes with being senior.
I find the people in the expat community that are the happiest are those whose current job is the best they've ever had.
