Notice these statements always start with "I heard".
It is totally asinine to believe that UAL (or DAL) gives one turd what XJT (or any subcontractor regional) thinks in terms of who they can or should hire. Staffing is the regional's problem, not the mainline's problem. These "rumors" have gone around every time mainline has hired, yet plenty of ASA pilots get hired at DAL and plenty of XJT pilots get hired at UAL. The only regional I've ever really seen blackballed in hiring was Comair, but thats for several different reasons.
