While captain in EWR grumbled loading EFB and I put same route in Ipad with Foreflight. Pulled up IFR/VFR charts and approach plates and flopped it down in front of him before he could even load route in the EFB. If we can ever take advantage of the product cycle of these ipads instead of using 3-5 year old technology we can certainly make things easier. I do not put all the blame on the airline--the FAA and governing bodies have to allow us to use same legally. But seriously...even the JEPP app when I did have it was light years faster than the EFB. Hopefully its just a matter of time until it can become "primary" with the EFB as a "backup".
