If Delta and Pinnacle merged, DOH would be best for Delta pilots. Otherwise, an arbitrated award like NWA/DAL, or 9E/XJ/9L would be a disaster for Delta pilots. Every Captain at 9E would be stapled to the bottom of the CA list at Delta, I would be about 6500 on that list, vs 10K via DOH.
I'm sure some would fight for DOH. I believe that's been floated before.
The one airline I know that could've been merged and stapled relatively easy to Delta was Compass a few years back. But we were told we didn't want that to happen.
