Probably very few widebody FO's, 50% or better in category, will bid narrowbody reserve Capt. That might help the race to the left seat if that is the ultimate goal.
5-6 legs a day for narrowbody CA flying into the hubs...or 1 leg to (fill in blank) difference in pay is probably less than $1K a month
Not to mention that when there's hiring/advancement going on, guys bypass far more than when things are stagnant. When there's no movement we tend to grab whatever chairs we can. Hiring, significant retirements and even a little bit of growth will make magic happen. We may even see some pilots getting Captain seats "out of seniority"
