Yup. ALPA has no real merger policy, always reverting to binding arbitration so they can just walk away with their hands clean. At the end of that merger, arbitrator Bloch gets hired again, paids thousands of dollars, and he will hand down another screw job of a seniority list integration. Rinse, repeat.

Pilots shouldn't have binding arbitration. It should be a SDSTFUAWIO policy.... Sit Down, Shut the **** Up, and Work It Out policy. It doesn't matter who is trying to screw who. No one should be merged until both groups decide to mutually agree to something for SLI purposes. Far too many egos, far too many "well, we had career expecations on the Qs!" or "hey, we are bringing the heavy whale to this merger, they only have 777s!" I guarantee a list would eventually come out. Management can add the enticing factor. For example, Colgan getting its planes parked. Once that is known, you can bet their committee would quickly shut up about a relative merger and then beg for anything, even DOH. So to summarize, let pilots work it out. If they are still slow with no end solution, then let the individual airline plans materialize (which means some airlines park planes or gain planes). Either way, as separate airlines, the pilots will come to some sort of terms real soon otherwise be screwed.
