Well, I hate to run counter to all the kindness this thread has produced, but I'll take a dispatcher on my jumpseat anytime. I figure the more he/she learns about what I do and what I need from my dispatcher, the easier it will be for him to give me the help I need. I don't care if he's going to see Aunt Suzi or not, I WANT him on the jumpseat, not snoozing in the back. I want him to be part of the equation.
We often bit@h about the lack of help we get from our dispatchers. Put 'em in the cockpit and let them see what we see. Might work out for all of us. Just my opinion tho.
