If you stick around here, you'll be a 767 captain before they even make senior FO...
If you're doing it because you can live in a base, that's probably not a terrible deal. The money saved, time saved, better overall QOL and OT opportunities by living in base is more than "significant", especially if it's a giant base like IAH, ORD or DEN.
If you're making the jump because of a small base, then that's probably not such a great trade, since we all know those ebb and flow.
It's a gamble, to be sure.
