I am all for everyone needing what they need to do protect their own, but this is one that should be flushed away. I cannot believe they are coming back for more, but pay out millions in executive bonuses and believe we should eat their scraps to support their mismanagement.
Prediction -- under Parker's management AA will be back in BK court within 5 years! Building a company where everyone feels underpaid, and under-appreciated has proven to be a recipe for disaster. I hope Jet Blue, Spirit, and Southwest kick our ass on every domestic route and all we have left is international.
Rant over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can you have much international when your domestic network has been lost to other carriers, also Parker is not making feel the AA folks underpaid. His big think is that he will bring them on par with United and Delta in 3 years. Now as far as the regionals, he is doing what Delta is doing and that is kick the sh!t out of the regionals. How Parker runs the airline after BK is another story but the reason he was able to basically acquire AA is because he demonstrated that he wants to run an airline and he can work with labor. Most of the workgroups at US Airways didn't want to merge so he let them work under crappy contracts since they didn't want to merge. But like all airline managers I am sure he loves split employee groups.
