If you have nothing better to do take the job. It will certainly help your prospects of getting a legacy job.

What most of us want from a new hire is to be educated. Understand the facts as to what jetblue truly is.

If you like it, make it a career. If you don't, move on. While you are here do your best to make it a better place for those who stay. Coming in with the attitude that jetblue can do no wrong, Dave will take care of me, or unionization is bad does nothing more than provide management further munitions to gut our benefits and protections.

Nothing would be worse than being unemployed in three years because we failed to fight for the protections that would have provided us fair seniority integration.

Last year American offered Jetblue an NDA to begin the acquisition process. This is a well publicized fact. Delta, in a not so public manner, attempted the same in 2007. Southwest has been rumored to have done the same. We have at least 1193 pilots who believe management will do the "right thing". What they fail to realize when the next airline attempts a T/E is almost every airline has a holding company which can buy Jetblue. That makes our PEA's moot and managements "do the right thing" claim moot.

In the end all the talk of pay or benefits mean very little without proper scope or merger protection.

This is what the current Jetblue is all about. While every airline job is a gamble the odds on this one are currently skewed in greater favor to the house. Again, choose wisely, weigh your options and have a back up plan.
