All aside, somewhat to not see any announcement from us at the Paris Air Show. I guess that falls in line with our current practices of buying used, tried, and tested airframes. I could care less about the "new plane smell", but I can't help to feel that we may not be in the best position to accelerate international wide body flying when the time comes. Global economic recovery may be slowly recovering, or it could be indefinitely out of sight.

Someone had mentioned it a few pages back, but has anyone looked at it to see if the AF/KLM orders would be growth or replacement. I only ask because my rep has told me that AF/KLM is dragging their feet in pulling down flying over the Atlantic and that is why we are out of compliance with our share of the flying. Once AF/KLM pulls down flying we should be able to be within compliance with minor adjustments by the end of the cure period.

I have not run the math as I fail to possess the appropriate degree of cognitive function to process such information, but it seems unlikely that AF/KLM Atlantic flight reduction will occur and/or brings us into compliance. Aircraft orders are long-term investments and we are only 8 months away from the look back, but it does signal a lack of intention on AF/KLM's part.

Furthermore, ALK seems to becoming more of a likely merger going forward. No rep has conveyed that directly, but indirectly it's in the back of their minds.
Anyone know how many pilots ALK has hired in the past 5 years? 10 years?
Inquiring minds want to know....

Just a few rambling thoughts for the day.
