There isn't any FAA requirement to have the emergency exit window shades up for take off, is there? I'm not making a case for or against the policy; just trying to determine if it's up to individual airlines or not.
I know AirTran said it was a requirement or at least at one time the (or maybe some rogue) FAs made a PA saying it was. I don't think we do and if we do - it's not enforced.
