Anyone have any suggestions of must places to go for eats, sightseeing, and/or great places to stay. Planning, of course, to run down to the Pike Place Market, but other than that, haven't ever been downtown Seattle. (Been to Ft. Lewis once, but would rather leave that experience in my past!)
Thanks for the reply.

Hotel Vintage Park at 1100 5th is a nice place if you're traveling with your wife. While it's downtown, some rooms are furnished with antiques and they have a nice concierge wine tasting once in a while. There's also a good Italian restaurant on site. You can call Klimpton hotels and see if they offer a travel industry discount.
The Brooklyn is close by. Fairly pricey but great seafood and beer selection and good staff.
If it's sunny renting a bike and taking the ferry back and forth to Bainbridge Island is kind of neat. You'll see the odd eagle or whale, plus over the holiday a host of small boats, and it provides unparalleled 360 views.
Fair warning, SEA will be slammed with tourists over the holiday. Also, there's lots of construction down at the waterfront so traffic is kind of a mess right now.
